Index Number: 6927 Hi Eric, Sounds good except for the fact that adaptive software ISN'T SHARE OR FREE WARE. The folks who make the stuff want to get MONEY from such a small market. It isn't a matter of "Why are they doing this to us because we're disabled?" It is a purely an economic matter. Sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe someone knows more than I do about this. If so, I hope that they reply to you favorably. Take care, see you on-line. Ann P. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!260!204!Ann.Parsons Internet: Ann.Parsons@f204.n260.z1.fidonet.org

Index Number: 7090 WS> Eric, echo off shuts up speech during batch files. What else WS> does your utility do? Walter, Let me give you an example of how I use Eric's program. ECHO OFF doesn't shut up speech produced by the applications the batch file calls, it only silences the commands themselves. One of the batch files I run daily calls up several programs that do things like summarize my board's log, update the download and upload record lists I keep, etc. Some of these applications I want to hear the output from as it occurs, and others I just want to do their thing and I can read the files they are updating at my convenience. Well, by using SPCTL in the batch file, I can completely shut off speech when an application I don't want to hear is occuring, and toggle it back on to hear those things I do want to hear. Thus by simply typing in the word "logread" I can perform about 7 different operations, listening to only what I want to, and play on the floor with Strider while it is all happening! Willie ...
