[misc.handicap] Teaching Computer

I was intrigued by your work: ie. teaching computer skills to blind
and sighted alike. I just graduated from school, and like you, I have
children, and would like to find some work that I could do at home. I
have found some work editing, but those jobs seem to be few and far
between. I am presently working in the computer lab at my school,
and trying to decide whether or not to go to graduate school.
I also am blind, and use a Toshiba laptop with speech. Do you have
to be super-technical to do that? Or is it just a matter of showing
people how to use Lotus, Wp, DBase, etc? How do you advertise this
service? Let me know as much as you can. It might be something
I could do along with my writing.
I've also been offered a part-time job teaching Creative Writing at
night, but it is contingent upon graduate school.
It's not that I don't want to work hard, but I don't really
want to work full-time; partly because I dread the rejection that
comes with job-hunting, but mainly because I don't like the idea of my
kids being alone all day during vacations while I'm at work.
When you write back, tell me something about your kids. By the
way, I'm an old lady too. 40. Over the hill! Feel young at heart,
though.
