Index Number: 8535 > blind and hard of hearing and am looking for a device that will > turn on house current when it picks up sound. thanks = A friend of mine is trying to rig up a small microphone to one of the controllers that Radio Shack sells to activate the X-10 modules (the part you plug into the wall outlet, then plug the lamp or whatever into). He has been too busy to finish it but when he does I'll post on how he did it. You might want to have a look at the Radio Shack X-10 modules and controllers (the controller is a box with switches; normaly each switch turns on or off whatever is connected to the module its set for.
