Maggie,
  Do you know of any  statements of national priorities, 
national goals, long-range mission statements, etc., that focus on 
augmentative communication strategies, aids, or personnel prep that have 
been published by any influential bodies, such as the federal 
government, ASHA, ISAAC, the Council for Exceptional Children, or the 
American Educational Research Association?  Anything that testifies to 
the value or importance of augmentative communication to school-aged 
children and adolescents?
 
These may help one of my colleagues from being deported. Thanks for any 
info you can provide.
