Index Number: 8600 Hi Shelley, I do hope you get this. I hope I spelled your name right. I did some research and networking about the shoe problem. Most of what I got was questions: is the child braced yet? Has she seen an orthopedist? Then, I talked to Mark at Rochester Orthopedics. He said that it's the problem with the Heel tendon, you probablly know this. He said that if you haven't gone to an Orthopedist, you should. He can recommend the services of an orthopedic group, like they have here. The trouble, as in most cases with stuff for the Disabled is that it's expensive. He said that your insurance would probablly pay for eighty percent of having your daughter fitted with thingies for her shoes so that they will be raised and prevent her from doing so much damage to her toes. He asked if she walked with her knees bent too? He said that she probablly falls a lot too? He said that he'd met a guy from NC. at a seminar in Buffalo recently, knew they had a good program down in NC somewhere. He also offered any help, should your okrthopedist want consultation, etc. Hope this helps. See you on-line.
