Index Number: 8649 Hi John, I do hope you get this reply. I haven't quoted your message because I've had problems posting to UUCP from FIDO. I keep getting great advice, but it just doesn't seem to stick. As for the question you asked about how to get a job: well, it's like this. The System, office of Vocational Rehabilitation is helpful, (sometimes), The organizations for the Blind are helpful (sometimes), but what really works is persistance, persistance, persistance, persistance, and networking, networking, networking, networking. Depending on the person's disability, he/she will encounter everything from indifference to outright hostility. Your friend will just have to send out resumes and network and pray and hope somebody out there listens and cares. As for the modifications to equipment, etc, it's best if he/she knows the kinds of modifications needed and tells the employer specifically what is available and how it can be obtained. Hope that this is helpful. See you on-line. Ann P. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!260!204!Ann.Parsons Internet: Ann.Parsons@f204.n260.z1.fidonet.org
