[This is from the Blink Talk Conference]

A "friend" of mine has been considering getting a scanner, and despite
the fact I have consistantly pushed him in the direction of the
Arkenstone, he is still leaning towards the Oscar! The way I understand
it, the Arkenstone with the ScanJet and the better recognition card is
identical to the Oscar (Hmmm, I guess that should be vice-versa!) the
only difference being in the software.
Well, he was insisting that he needed the friendlier interface
offered by the Oscar, so I pointed out that with the addition of
EasyyScan to the Arkenstone this was no longer a question. To this he
replied that he was most fond of SoftVert as his speech program and he
couldn''t be sure that it would be as friendly with EasyScan as it would
be with Oscar!
Are any of you, or do any of you know anyone who is using SoftVert
with the Arkenstone and EasyScan? Is there any reason for him to spend
the extra bucks for the Oscar system that I don't know about? Finally,
if I convince him to buy the Arkenstone rather than the Oscar, don't you
think I should get a cut of the money he saves?
                                                        Willie

... Like a bat out of Bellview!
