Hi Bill,

Yes, I've read some of that echo and do carry it here on my board. I
think it offers some really good things. For one thing, people can say
whatever they want to say, not be interrupted, confronted, not worry
about time... It allows for safety in the communication. Also, it
makes it possible for someone who is blind or otherwise disabled to get
some of that support without having to worry about getting to a meeting
place, violating their own right to privacy by asking for a ride,
worrying about the needs and timetables of others...

Lastly, the other thing about it that I think is real good is that it
allows people to share without compartmentalizing their need for growth
and/or recovery. People who are dealing with alcoholism, chemical
addiction, codependency, relationship addiction etc., can all share
there in that one area. To me, that's really positive and what allows
for a rich healing that crosses lots of barriers. Like with disability,
I believe as we find that we have humanness in common with others, as
recovering people find that indeed, we all struggle with vulnerability,
grief, desires, loss etc., then it's easier to move forward more fully
and freely.

Take care.
Deb
