Brett,

The TURBO is marketed in this country by Dignified Products
Corporation, P.O. Box 337, Mantua, NJ 08051 1-(800) 548-7905.

INVACARE originally marketed this chair but discontinued it because "It
was a maintenance nightmare". This is a child's chair with a maximum load
rating of 110 Lbs. 85 Lbs. without the stabilizer unit. It retails for
$9,000.00. I checked with the local sales rep and he told me that the
maintenance problems have been solved. He was supposed to bring a demo unit
out for one of our members to try but called to say that the lift unit had
failed and we would need to wait until he could get another unit.

If you decide this chair is what you need make sure the local dealer
will stand behind it.

We were interested in this chair for a member who is a bilateral above
knee amputee because it is the only chair which will give her vertical and
horizontal mobility. We have several members who can benefit from this
design but, because of its low capacity, poor record and high cost, we have
talked the Volunteers for Medical Engineering into helping us build one from
the ground up.

All The Best,
