Index Number: 6038 Hi all, I just recevieved a catalog from Cleo Inc. called the Rehab Shoppe and it contains some modified equiptment for bowling among other things. They have a bowling ball ramp that is 62"long and 26" wide when assembled and can help a wheelchair user roll the ball down the alley it is $104. There is a bowling ball pusher so that instead of throwing the ball the severly disabled can aim and push this device is $85.75. They also offer a handle grip bowling ball, the unique handle permits the bowler to grap the ball without the usual finger hold grip and the handle retracts flush into the ball when released. The grip ball comes in 10 lb for $164, and 12 lb. for $166. If you would like more info and to see the other adaptive devices that Cleo carries here is their address and phone number. Index Number: 8584 Hello, this is my first post to this BBS, I usually just drop in and read the postings. I do not have a handicap, except for a few personality flaws, which my wife could (and does) point out. >Julius@f223.n163.z1.fidonet.org (Julius) writes... > >Bowling is a good activity. If you want to get into organized bowling, but you can't find a suitable league, start your own. Starting a bowling league is very simple, finding teams for the league is a little more difficult. To start a league, go to a bowling center, ask them what times and days are available, and sign up. You'd probably want at least 4 teams for your league, each team should consist of 3-5 bowlers. You will also have control over the league's prizes and trophies. My young nephews were in a league, and each bowler received a "participation" trophy, they loved it. Your son could bowl on a "regular" league. Bowling, like golf, has a handicap system so bowlers of different abilities can compete. Some bowling centers also have aids, like guide rails, bowling balls with retractable handles instead of finger holes, automatic score keepers, and cushions for the gutters so all the balls rolled stay in play. I feel kind of silly posting this. Most of the discussions on this BBS deal with serious matters, mine is about bowling. Al Asmus Isanti, Minnesota USA

Take it from a guy who's spent entirely too much time being seriousover the last six months, we can't all be serious all the time. It can get overly dull, depressing, pointless, etc. I've posted my share of fun messages. My topics have included water skiing, fun summer activities, bowling, and (stay tuned for) beep baseball which I'll be trying for the first time next weekend. ----------------------------------------------------------------- John Mattioli Most improved skier (american blind skiers association 1989) and humble to!
