Hi Linda,
Don't mean to butt in here, but I was thinking that since you have
a young child, maybe you could find one of the guide dog schools that
will provide training in one's home area. I'm not sure which ones do,
but I'm sure that Fidelco does, *that's all they do), and I think that
Guiding Eyes does also. Good luck.
I sympathize with you not wanting to leave a yong child. When my
first dog died, my youngest son was only a baby, and as a result, I
couldn't get another dog for about two years. However, home training
has become more widely available, so see if you can find a school which
would provide it. You certainly have a justifiable reason for asking
for it.
