Index Number: 8555 Ann, I do not know how to quote your message (or if it's necess). InRe your friend with the TDD: My TDD has a computer chip installed in it to allow me to use it to converse with BBSes. I had to have it installed at the factory (Krown Research in Calif.) in order to NOT have to haul my portable computer and my TDD. It will go into ASCII at my instructions and will call phone systems (like PCPursuit) and then connect me with remote BBSes. In order for your friend to be able to call -locally- and then -outdial- on her TDD, she will have to have this computer chip installed at the factory. The cost? About $150.00 (but I'm not sure about that. She could ask....) That's about all I can tell you without more specific questions. What is this module? Is it hardware or = Ask your friend what make TDD it is and what, exactly, the factory said they were going to add (and how much is it). TDDs have only a one line display of 20 characters and I would think that reading the msg's here would be very difficult for her. You might suggest that she consider putting the money toward a regular MS-DOS computer instead so she can get the full screen and we can get a msgnification program to her. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!129!26!Stu.Turk Internet: Stu.Turk@f26.n129.z1.fidonet.org

Index Number: 8942 The clock/calendar chip of my TDD was broken and needed to be replaced. Krown Research quoted $230.00 P/H and repair. I have $100.00 home-owners' insurance and the insurance company took care of the repair over $100.00....Whew! ---Sheila. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!203!11!Sheila.Fava Internet: Sheila.Fava@f11.n203.z1.fidonet.org
