Bill, just to add to Betty's post..... Just tell them what they want -
DO NOT volunteer ANY information to them....I have seen people do just
that and end up screwing themselves. I went with a friend who is known
world-wide for her motor mouth, and I really did kick her when she
started her engine a-reving! She shut up, coasted throught the rest of
the interview and got her claim approved.
The key is to NOT give up even if it has to go through a couple of
reconsiderations and eventually into court.... don't give up and let
the b*****ds win! You paid into the system and you are entitled to
receive it when you need it.
And you can get all the support you need - just ask for it and it will
be here for you....
We care.

hang in there applying for ssa can be tedious, i have worked as a
ssa advocate for a private nonprofit agency i helped clients file
ssa ssi claims and go through the appeals process if you get to the
administrative hearing level it would be advisable to get a lawyer
specializing in ssa. do not give up-. the system in my op0inion is
set up to discourage applicants frustrate them so they give up when
i was doing ssa claims around 60 percent of initial claims were
denied on the firstlevel around 50 on the second level and around
20 at the apeals hearing level with a advocate your chances go up.
ihad around a 80 sucess on initial clames and 90 percent aproval
rate on the reconsideration level. at the apeals level whereyou see
a alj if you get a good eturny your chances should be good. any
good lawyershould take on the case with no upfrunt payment and if
he or she wins the case the usual charge is 25 percent of retro
venefits. not bad. if you have any questions let me know the key is
making sure the fo0rms are filled out in the way the analist wants
to see them. also good documentation of clame is imparitive.

I'm sorry that my message came across as myself requiring disability
benefits. That was not my intention, I was trying to inform Greg that
another person was applying for disability and was having difficulty
and therefore was trying to have an advocate intercede on his behalf.
