Hi,
I would suspect that the Whisper 2000, which I believe is a hearing
device sold over the television set for some twenty odd dollars,
would not likely be of too much help, if any at all to someone with
a "severe" hearing loss. I think this product would maybe be okay
for someone with a "mild" loss, but I think for someone with a
severe loss, for twenty dollars, it would probably be a useless
toy.
Similar "quality" devices do exist for people with severe loss, but
you cannot buy them for twenty doilars I am afraid.
If you or a friend or relative has a severe loss and you (they)
want an "Assistive Listening Device", I think you would be more
realistic to make a call to a Hearing and Speech clinic or see
whoever you ear doctor is and ask about ALDs rather than send away
for a twenety dollar product you saw on television.
Keepin' the faith!
