 >A lot of that post came from too many experiances in my past where
 >the mob mentality disregarded all sense of right and wrong and I
 >found myself on the short end of an injustice because its easier
 >to turn against someone who is rightous but "outside"

 >Here we have a group. I just don't want to see this group
 >practice the same injustices that brought us together in the first
 >place.

It's just the law of group dynamics at work. To form any
coalition, the people must scapegoat an agreed-upon target.
After the first scapegoat, hopefully the newly formed group of
isolated persons will then be able to graduate to more "adult"
targets.

I don't mind being the scapegoat. Like all advanced community
activists - it is the long term results that matter. In the
industry of professional do-gooders, our "code of ethics" has the
line which is something like:

 "To make ourselves REDUNDANT!"
