I recently sent a message to Stu Turk regarding using the ANSI
system kor key redefinitions. In it I referred to a program
named ANSIKEY.PRG, and described how it was used and the
beginning escape sequence needed by the ANSI system.
Well, to make a long story short, the off-line reader I use (OMK0
will eliminate any graphic character in a message. It remove the
beginning character from each line of the ANSIKEY.PRG list,
making it seem to start with a "[". It doesn't, instead it's
preceeded by a left arrow symbol (Decimal: 27, HEX: 1B). Also,
in the paragraph following the listing it deleted a left arrow
before the [.
Sorry if this confused anyone or caused anyone any problems.
By the way, the left arrow symbol can be inserted into many text
processors by holding tha Alt Key down and pressing the 2
followed by the 7 keys one the numerical pad, then releasing the
Alt key. Other text editors have the feature where non-ASCII
characters can be entered directly in the text. The text editor
I use (SLED.COM) has that feature and I highly recommend it for
writing bacth file, etc. In fact, I'm using it to write this
message within OMK.
Clear as mud yet?
