Index Number: 9304 The ADA went back to the conference committee and was passed out without the Grassley amendment and without the Chapman amendment. The Grassley amendment was replaced by another which establishes a committee within the Ethics Committee which will handle ADA complaints. Chapman was replaced by an amendment by Hatch which requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to publish a list of communicable diseases transmitted by food handling. This is to be done every year. ====================================================== The ADA Conference Committee Report was just approved by the House by an overwhelmig margin, after surviving a last minute effort by a majority of Republicans to recommit the bill. WE WON! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED HARD OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS TO BRING US TO THIS LANDMARK VOTE IN DISABILITY RIGHTS HISTORY!
