HK> IT WAS HARD TO GET A GOOD LOOK AT ALL THE GOODIES, I DID SEE
HK> TSI'S OSCAR SCANNER AND WAS IMPRESSED. I HAVN'T HEARD ANYBODY
HK> TALK ABOUT IT ON BLINK LINK. HOW COME?

Henry,
I guess cause you wern't around about 3 months ago when a couple of
us saw a demonstration of the Oscar here in Pittsburgh and posted our
impressions here in BlinkTalk!
Basically speaking, at least from the hardware point of view, the
Oscar and the Arkenstone are identical systems! This was told me by
both TSI and Arkenstone representatives, so I believe it to be the
truth. Initially, I did think the Oscar to be a little user friendlier,
being a menu driven system and supposedly having the ability to use a
braille translator right from the menu (I never saw this work!), but now
with EasyScan and some of the other Arkenstone options, I'm not sure
this is even much of a point.
Admittedly, I am not a scanner user, and there are a lot more
credible sources in the echo, but that never kept me from leaving my
opinion before, so take it for what it's worth...
                                                        Willie
