Index Number: 9436 Howdy! On the subject of motorized wheelchairs, my hubby has a withered right limb and on the outside chance it may someday get better (plus the fact that amputation can produce phantom pains, yikes), he has opted not to have the limb amputated. He can get around on crutches and short distances using a "space boot", but needless to say, either option is painful for much of any distance (i.e., going to the zoo, for instance, or shopping). We have not found anything satisfactory in the way of wheelchairs that combine what we need -- something that let's him carry things and is easy to get into and out of a car trunk by somebody balancing on one leg or that I can lift (limited weight), that is also lightweight enough that he can push himself over long distances or that is small enough to be maneuverable (OHYSI) through shopping aisles, etc. Input? Suggestions?
