Index Number: 9475 [This is from the Chronic Pain Conference on Fidonet] I'm glad that we finally hooked up. Like yourself, I am also a spouse that has had to take care of their mate. My wife was involved in a car accident about 4 years ago, and at times it has been demanding with very little support. All of our friends and acquaintances would always ask about my wife, and I felt that I should have carried a tape recorder to give my report. There have been only a rare few that have asked how I am doing. At St. Mary's Hospital, which is a Trauma center, and also has a Rehab unit, (where I used to work), I had tried to get them to set up a support group for the spouses and families of victims, though it didn't happen. Being new to the computer world, and BBS with the conferences, I understand how invaluable this can be to patients and families alike, and I strongly agree that stations can be set up in local rehab facilities so that people can be aware from the start of what is available and be able to follow through upon discharge. Keep up the great work. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!273!201!Al.Linquist Internet: Al.Linquist@f201.n273.z1.fidonet.org
