[misc.handicap] Brain damage - symptoms

In response to a private letter from a reader of this
conference, I'm quickly listing the symptoms of brain
damage. The treatment is "unknown to medical science".
However, I do have several high tech solutions, which I'll
detail if there is interest.

The "professionals" will say that every brain injury is
"unique". What they mean is: "I don't know".

Each brain damage differs in severity. The symptoms do
differ, but the similarities are so common, that the many
"professionals" who gave legal testimony on me, read things
into me that were not there.

In the most severe case, the person is "Brain Dead".
Everything else works, looks pretty, etc. But the brain has
no electrical activity, or is in a "coma". "Coma" comes in
different categories as well.

In my case, Intensive Care was only one week. The most
extreme coma state lasted just 24 hours, but the total
amnesia lasted ten weeks.

Whether I had epileptic fits, nightmares, headaches,
vision-loss, sensation-loss, sensory-distortions,
hallucinations, ... I don't know, because of my total
amnesia.

However, as I moved from brain-age of Zero to 16 years old
(when they discharged me from hospital), I had remnants of
the usual accompaniments to brain damage.

I suffered the usual things that every person has after
ten-weeks in bed - muscle wastage, loss of tone, etc. And
I underwent the usual Bereavement Reactions (which I've
described in other postings into this conference).

Instead of the one-hour sleep that I used to do, my
brain-damage has improved in the last five years to the
point that I can sleep for four hours. Then, because of
the "emotional disinhibition", my dreams wake me up.

I remain unable to "multi-task" eg eat & talk at the dinner
table, or walk/ talk. I remain "nasty" & "rude" to every
face-to-face" contact I have with real people. My speech &
movement is still very obviously "crippled".

I'm different from most brain-damaged people, in that I
retain most of my memory, and most of my intelligence. The
memory & intelligence that I had before my accident was
about twice what I have now. And what I have now is in the
99th percentile of the "norm".

Overall, my work output is about a tenth of what it used to
be. My overall personality is however so uneven &
unpredictable, that I can no longer work in a team of "real
persons". Hope that explains my disability. I have three
days of "expert" evidence from my Supreme court hearings
which support the above statements. One day I'll release
an edited version of the lot.

... Novice Power! - a contradition.
