Index Number: 9529 The IBM National Support Centre for Persons with Disabilities is in the process of gathering information on Canadian Organizations and Associations that are involved in computer related service delivery. The information will be compiled and distributed with our other resource guides. If you are involved in any of the activities listed below or know of some one who is please send us your name and mailing address so that we can send you a questionnaire. [Note from Bill McGarry -- or just post it in the conference and I will make sure that it gets to Pat.] We are looking for regional resources in the following areas: Organizations and rehabilitation centres that provide: Alternate access assessment and support Augmentative communication technical aid assessments Work place accommodation assessment and support Information on the use of computers for individuals who are developmentally delayed or have downs syndrome Information and support on the use of computers for individuals with learning disabilities. Technology Training We are also looking for information on: Regional dealers that specialize in computer based assistive devices and software French publications that publish educational software reviews or articles on any of the areas mentioned above Canadian publications that publish educational software reviews or articles on any of the areas mentioned above Funding: Funding for children or adults to purchase technical aids for face to face or written communication. Specifically, microcomputers and access devices. Government funding programmes to purchase technical aids Community groups and service organizations that will provide funding for individuals to purchase technical aids.
