Hi PHil:
Your comments about guide dogs and blind people's aattitudes
was well written. Thanks. Anyway, I have met the same sort of ratio
you mentioned about "the good people" and the "bad people,". I just
am a sort of nasty person who doesn't like to put up with a jerk no
matter if they have a cane, dog, or a guide pig! I think dog users
who are considerate to the people they are around are easy to deal
with, and those who aren't are a huge pain. Its the same with a cane
user, some cane users wap people and all sorts of stupid behavior
with their canes, I wap them back, and I probablly will tell a bad
dog user to take the problem elsewhere! I hate blind people who make
poor images! "thats a good one blind people making bad images!"
Anyway, sorr about the disjointed irrational nature of this rambling-
-I'm nearly finished. Maybe a simple policy of "we don't like people
who are a pain in the butt for no reason." would work?
Some cane users are a pain because they slap the cane around-
-because they have minimal training, how about a "cane" license!
Boy wouldn't that get some hackles up! ha ha ha.
Okay, I'm done now.

Hi Al,
Your comments about some cane users and the way they treat those who
might get in the way made me laugh. I went to the Nebraska school for
the blind back during the mid sixties and we had one blind teacher
there. He would beat you to death with his cane if you got in his way
so we always gave him lots of room. One day I went down to his room to
pick up my books I had left there to go to lunch. Of course the rule
was always to walk the right hand side of the halls but his room was on
the left and there wasn't anyone around so I walked the left side.
About two feet in front of his door, I slammed into him and nearly
knocked him down. He had told us that he had dropped his false teeth
right out of his mouth once before in public and I could hear his teeth
rattling around as though they were about to fly free. I'm laughing so
hard while I'm typing this that I can hardly type. Anyway, I figured
the old buzzard had his cane so I immediately leaped back and dove into
an open door across the hall. The rooms were set back inside the walls
so I hid in one of the door openings. He began yelling and demanding
that whoever that was to announce themself. No sir, I didn't speak a
word! I even held my breath for fear he might hear me and beat me with
his cane. After a couple of minutes of not being able to find me, he
walked away. Years later I was preaching in the very church where he
was a member. I went to visit him at the school for the blind and he
showed me around the school so I could see how it had changed over the
years. I never told him I was the one who had nearly knocked him down
that day. I guess I'm not a very good Christian but at least I'm alive
to tell it.
Phil.
