In the latest issue of GA - SK Newsletter, on page 7 is an
advertisement for something called "The Pentelephone -
Telewriting, Facsimile, copier, all in one".
It is described in the advertisement as follows:
"Ideas are created and developed through person-to-person
dialogue
What is Telewriting . . .
* The internationally defined term for handwritten electronic
communications
* A communications format in which image data consisiting of
characters and graphics can be received together
* The character and graphic data input by writing and drawing
by hand is transmitted to the other party in real time just
as it is input"
The name, address, and telephone number is:
C. Itoh & Co.,
1650 Research Drive, Suite 125
Troy, MI 48083
(313) 680-9140
Comments:
It appears in the sketch to be about the size of a small lap
top computer. It has a writing tool (wand?) attached with a
cord. The writing surface appears to be like a liquid crystal
surface with a (mode) selection(s) on the right had side.
My question is has anyone seen this thing yet? If so what is
your impression(s)? Is this another one of those "pie in the
sky" things? There is no indication with the listed telephone
number if it is voice or TDD or both. I do plan to write or
try to call to obtain further information and will post if
there is any interest.
