Index Number: 9483 Hi everyone! I read this group for quite awhile now and I've learned many interesting things. Many thanks for this. Sometime ago, someone posted an article saying he developped a software for the VersaBraille. As I'm seriously considering buying it, I sent him a piece of e-mail to obtain more information on his software. I don't know if my mail reached him or what happened but I didn't receive any reply. I'm sorry to bother him again if he could read my first message and didn't reply for any reason but I hardly need the information. I post this article to everyone because I'm also interested in every other information a helpful soul may give me about terminal emulators and file transfer programs that run on a VersaBraille. Here is more precisely my problem. A friend of mine wants to control a PC-compatible with a VersaBraille II+. I don't know much about the VBII+ but I was told it's programmable. We should be very interested in finding a vt100 or vt102 emulator that runs on the VBII+. With such a beast, we may connect the VB to the PC through a com port and then, run a program on the PC like PcAnywhere or Carbon Copy or some others that allow you to control a PC with a vt100-like terminal. I also know of a program called "tandem31" that allows you to control a PC either from its own console or from an Heath-19 terminal. So, my first question is What kind of terminal emulator can we run on a VBII+? The second thing we would like to do is to make file transfers between the VBII+ and the PC. I know this transfer is quite easy to establish with an old Versabraille P2d (the one with a cassette drive) but, how can it be done with the VBII+? Many thanks in advance for any information! Index Number: 9640 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] I would suggest that you call talking computers inc in falls church VA and talk to Doug wakefield I think that he is a good source of information for this kind of think another solution would be to buy a Braille 'n Speak from me and use speaksys Witch is our pc access software. With this you use the Braille keybourd on the bns to type (you can use grade two Braille) and it comes up on the screen of the pc. with this you can run any pc software and access it with the Braille 'n Speak. You can reach me at (301)879-4944 and if you would like to talk to doug wakefield call (703)241-8224 Thanks Bryan Blazie -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!129!89.0!Bryan.Blazie Internet: Bryan.Blazie@p0.f89.n129.z1.fidonet.org
