Is there any sort of battery backup possible? I just got a notice with my electric bill that you should notify the power company if you used any sort of life- support equipment. That way in the event of a power failure they will be able to give priority to restoring your service. Obviously, that doesn't deal with the immediate problem of having the failure occur in the first place.
