Index Number: 9727 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] Christophe: I have heard of a VT-100 emulator running on the VersaBraille II, but if your objective is to work with the screen of a PC, you would probably be better off with the BIT system which Telesensory sells with the VB II. Check with Telesensory about the VT-100 emulation, as well. I don't think I could recommend the VBII in any case. It uses an 8085 processor, and is really sluggish in responding to commands. If you're going with Telesensory, look into the Navigator, which has solved most of the speed problems, or some of the European braille screen access systems. Another problem with the VersaBraille VT-100 approach to PC control: How are you going to generate function keys, Alt keys, and other extended key codes from the Braille keyboard? The BIT software provides a method to generate them. Hope this information helps. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!109!304!Lloyd.Rasmussen Internet: Lloyd.Rasmussen@f304.n109.z1.fidonet.org
