Does anyone know if it is possible to mkke procomplus V1.1B talk. I use
an AT&t 6312 Pc with Vertplus, and although I can use Procomplus, if I
have to change anything in the setup, I can only do it by going in and
out of screen review, because Procomplus writes directly to the screen
when it's in that mode.

Helo, Daniel, I am afraid it won't talk to you because it is in
direct screen write mode. I don't believe it will write to the
bios. That is one thing I like about jaws, I can press the jaws
cursor, which is similar to review mode, but you can write in that
mode. I can check what I want to set in the setup menu, and change
them without going in and out of review mode.

I don't currently use procomm plus but I have tried it. I think
that there is a way to get it to write through the bios. Look in
the docs it should have that option. I know of other blinks who
use it or tell me that they are using it. I like telix better.

Dan,
At first I thought no problem. Until I blew off the dust from my
copy and read the manual. I was sure you could configure it to write
through BIOS like the shareware version. I could not find it though.
If you really don't need the new features the plus version offers, I
would recommend you use the shareware version. It speaks very well.

Commercial time!

Also, just to let you know, Vocal-Eyes has a read box feature. Procomm
plus uses boxes when it displays information on the screen. If all you
want is for the contents of the box to be spoken, you can press a single
key (the keystroke is your choice) and Vocal-Eyes will find and read the
entire box. You can even take this one step farther. By using the
cursoring keys of Vocal-Eyes, you can setup when you press the procomm
plus keystroke which displays a box to tell Vocal-Eyes to automatically
speak the box. For example, ALT-Z is the help screen. You can inform
Vocal-Eyes when you press ALT-Z, after procomm plus has placed the box
on the screen to speak it to you. No additional keystrokes and best of
all NO MACROS!

O.K. end of commercial!

Regards,
  Doug

Well, I used to use it, and although i finally switched to telix, I
think I finally got it to speak pretty well by fooling around with some
of the things in the configuration menu. I wish I could remember more,
but I think the two things I fooled with were snow control and support
for enhanced keyboard, but i can't remember which way they should be
set. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but fool with those and see what
happens or try Telix.

THE SNOW SWITCH IN THE CONFIGURATION MENU IS THE SAME AS DIRECT OR
BIOS.
WHEN THE SNOW SWITCH IS ON, THE PROGRAM IS IN THE BIOS MODE.
I AM USING VOCAL-EYES, AND I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE PROCOMM PLUS WORK
QUITE WELL.

 Hi Dan,
I use soft vert with echo and have used procomm plus with no problem.
There are about three possibilities here. One is that since you are
using an internal card instead of an external synthesizer like echo, it
won't work. The second possibility is that it's going to com1 instead
of com2 if your modem's in com2. The other possibility is that you have
not configurd it to do bios writes which it will do. I don't know for
sure what the pproblem is since I'm not there. But you should not have

you must set windows to make the different boxes talk.
but awhile you are setting up the program, you can set a window to read
the hole screen. after you make a selection like, d for the length of
time which you want the alarm to sound, then, you can use ctrl l, to
tell you what the current setting is, as well as what you have set the
new setting to.
as far as using the program online, once you have made all the settings,
it works well with incoming messages and prompts scrolling up the
screen.

Danny,
You should be able to use the cursoring keys and have them speak the
current box on the screen. That should make many of the boxes speak.
Thanks for the input.
  Doug
