Index Number: 9788 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] I have heard that Vocal Eyes has a macro facility and that that the hot keys are definable, but is it able to monitor a certain window or "frame" as does jaws? ? I purchased Jaws because it was demonstrated to me that it worked well with Word Perfect. However I've been really disappointed because though it works prety well with the spell checker I cannot get it to point out the misspelled word though it will automatically read me the status line and I have managed to get it to read the choices of words. Can Vocal Eyes be set up so that a macro can be establishedto seak out a mispelledword if it is highlighted? My problem with talking programs in the past is that they show the choices, the status line, but the misspelled word is not findable. I know these programs like Word Perfect are really difficult to get working with speech programs, but I need one that can work the spell checker efficiently in Word Perfect. Can vocal Eyes meat the challenge? s s -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!381!9.0!Grant.Downey Internet: Grant.Downey@p0.f9.n381.z1.fidonet.org

Vocaleyes, does not have any built-in macros like jaws does. They claim you don't need them. However, I have been looking through the docs, and I think that they could sure use them. They have a lot of pull down menus and by the time you pull down a menu, and another one, and make a choice, I wish they did use macros like jaws does. They would certainly make getting through those menus, and making choices a lot easier and faster. GD> "frame" as does jaws? ? Grant, did you load in the wp5.jcf file? I am not using wordperfect 5, but I am using wordperfect 4.2, and I don't have any problem with jaws pointing out the mispelled word to me. You press control-numpad5, and it will put the jaws cursor on the mispelled word, and then you press control-down arrow key, and it will put the jaws cursor on the first word choice. Hope this will help you. Walter -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!396!8.1!Walter.Siren. Internet: Walter.Siren.@p1.f8.n396.z1.fidonet.org
