Hi,

Okay youse guys, I know lots of you know that Vixen has been pretty
jazzed about her tentative scheduling to be in the September Class
at Guide Dog school in San Rafael. Well, here's the latest update,
my shceduling in that class is no longer tentative, it is definite
(barring explosions, nuclear holocaust and other such things!) and
she is now more jazzed than ever.

As some of you guys know, I did not pass my in-home interview and
walk earlier this year because I needed more mobility and because
of my hearing loss and the long fight I had in getting new hearing
aids.

Well, I put in a lot of sweat by entering a mobility program and
working very hard with an Instructor with the Society For the Blind
at improving my mobility and I finally got my new hearing aids and
listening devices and now it has finally and "officially" paid
off.

Ray Underwood, head of the outreach department at Guide Dogs for
the Blind in San Rafael, came out yesterday, himself, to do my
second in-home interview. What did your Vixen do? She showed him
how to get down and boogie!!!!!!!

After spending some time with me, we went out so he could watch me
cane travel, see how much of the world I can hear with my aids and
watch me strut my stuff! I am here to tell you that your Vixen did
you all proud (and me too, heheh!). I even took him places I had'nt
traveled yet!

When we got back to my apartment, Ray didn't even bother to come
back in, he just made sure I know that I would now definitely be in
the September class and that I would see him at San Rafael!

So, now, I am more jazzed than I was before. We went out to the old
Spaghetti Factory and celebrated! I just knew I was ready!!

Keepin' the faith!
