[misc.handicap] PD single switch educational software

I'm looking (on behalf of a friend) for IBM educational software which
can be used with a single switch. The software should be:

PD, Shareware or otherwise inexpensive.
Pre Primary and Early Primary school level
ie. Very early spelling/math exercises (with authorable content)

The text should be 40 text (not 80 column) or larger.

The parent will start developing her own if it is not available (probably
will anyway). Is there anyone with info about suitable software or
interested in teaming up to develop some PD,shareware (ie. many hands
make light work...sorry about the cliche).

DJANot sure what you mean here about a "Single switch", do you mean
DJAa double floppy system?

Single Switch software is programs that can be operated by someone
pressing a switch (usually connected to the Joystick Port). They
use a SCANNING system to automatically move through the options
and the user presses the switch when it gets to the right one. Some
programs are custom written with that option, or else you can by
programs which will POP-UP over standard programs and display
and on screen keyboard. I don't know if that makes much sense but
they are easier to read than descibe. These systems are used by people
with fairly severe physical disabilities which prevent them from using
any form of keyboard or even voice recognition.

DJAI've got a math game called funnels and buckets which is
Funnels is great, we have it here and the kids use it frequently.

DJAI've also got a game called Bigrig if you want that too; great

Haven't got it, but I think I've seen it on the local boards. If I can't
get I'll let you know. Sounds good.

Neither program works with a single switch but would be good for others here
(at a Toy Library For Children With Special Needs). Thanks very much for
the info. Much appreciated.
