Hi Donna,
You Wrote Susan, telling her that you wish members of your Church would
take you out socially. I waited a long time for that phone call, i do
get them now, not a lot, but some. What happened? I quit waiting I
called up one of the guys in my Sunday School class and asked him if he
wanted to drink a few beers, he said it sounded like a good idea.
Slowly, i would build up my courage and call other friends when ever i
got the urge. forget about if there my friends they should call me
first, it does not not work that way. unfortunately you will have to make
the first contact, and probably the second and third, but eventually as
more and more people find that you really are an enjoyable person and can
go out and have a nice time with them they may start including you. it
is not fair and it is certainly not easy. I found it lots easier to blame
the others for my sitting around the house.
Donna I do a lot of public speaking, telling people what they should do,
I've noticed many of my disabled friends are very good at doing the very
same thing, I wonder, how many of us really practice what we preach. I
know for a long time, i didn't. If you have tried calling to no avail,
well then I guess I havn't told you any thing you didn't already know. I
have a sneaking suspicion, though, that you did already know this , and
like me, are still waiting for that phone to ring.
By the way, when are you going to move to Texas where you belong (grin)
