Of course don't forget about providing transportation for those who
need it.  Not just for priority trips but for social gatherings as
well as hair cuts and shopping.  And please don't make special
classes for the disabled, particularly the mentally retar ded.
They can fit into a regular classroom and should be welcomed in the
regular services, not special services for them.  If some one
protests that they might become a distraction during the service,
assure them that they are probably right.  But ask them if they
are any more a nuisance than that precocious child who
regularly comments, or the one who has to get up to go to the
bathroom, or coughs or sneezes.  Most importantly, ask them if they
think the Lord really cares if they are a distraction or not.
Open your place of worship to all types of people, not just typical
people.  In the eyes of the Lord they are all the same.  We can
make the difference, and it is an effort worth making waves over.
