Index Number: 10587 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] Of course don't forget about providing transportation for those who need it. Not just for priority trips but for social gatherings as well as hair cuts and shopping. And please don't make special classes for the disabled, particularly the mentally retar ded. They can fit into a regular classroom and should be welcomed in the regular services, not special services for them. If some one protests that they might become a distraction during the service, assure them that they are probably right. But ask them if they are any more a nuisance than that precocious child who regularly comments, or the one who has to get up to go to the bathroom, or coughs or sneezes. Most importantly, ask them if they think the Lord really cares if they are a distraction or not. Open your place of worship to all types of people, not just typical people. In the eyes of the Lord they are all the same. We can make the difference, and it is an effort worth making waves over. I hope I have helped you some, good luck.
