Is there a standard way JP> to interface with the synthesizers, or is there somewhere that JP> I could get more information on attatching to synthesizers JP> that are out there? JP> We're working on our own "Talking" software but that JP> will take a while to develop. In the mean time I was JP> wondering if there were ways that we could tie our softwware JP> directly to synthesizers. Jan, My first impression would be for you to make your "Talking" software work with screen readers instead of directly accessing the synthesizer. As you may or may not know, we have our own screen reader "Vocal-Eyes." Vocal-Eyes or any screen reader handles the dirty work between the application and the synthesizer. I feel this would be the best way to go. Just a thought! Regards, Doug -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!369!8!Doug.Geoffray Internet: Doug.Geoffray@f8.n369.z1.fidonet.org

Index Number: 10634 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] JP> Is Vocal-Eyes shareware, or commercial-ware, or is there a JP> shareware version around. I'll look around for one. The more JP> we can find out about what's good and bad to say, or what is a JP> bad way to say it with a voice system, the better our software JP> will 'sound'. Jan, Vocal-Eyes is not shareware. However, we do have a demonstration version available. If you would like a demo copy let me know, I would be glad to send you a copy. The demo copy lasts for 20 minutes at a time. The entire manual is included on the disks as well. Thanks Doug -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!369!8!Doug.Geoffray Internet: Doug.Geoffray@f8.n369.z1.fidonet.org
