Index Number: 10721 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] The idea of publishing a book which would detail programming requirements for compatibility with speech output seems to me to be a terrific thought. If there is interest in this sort of thing, I think it would be a worthwhile project for AFB's National Technology Center to do either alone or collaboratively or perhaps help get some funding to do. As you say, the talent is out there, and the only barrier is getting the people together and financing the project so that the programmers involved will be able to earn a living while doing a good thing. I think some letters to Elliott Schreier, Director, National Technology Center, American Foundation for the Blind, 15 West 16th Street, New York, New York 10011 would be very appropriate. You might also want to copy William F. Gallagher at the same address who is the President and Executive Director of AFB. I'll try to raise the idea internally, too, but you know howit is -- sometimes it's better to hear it from the outside.Besides, I'm always dreaming up and talking about crazy things which we should be doing. <grin> Scott ...
