I'd like to see how > they'll be Iyt depends why they can't feed themselves, if it is due to physical problems, they proably can be rehabilitated. There are people who are productive using a computer with a puff stickor similar device. What has to happen is to be aware of the skills the person with a disability has and adapt the environment so that those skills can be utilized. A square pweg may not fit in a round hole, but thge hole can be adapted. Index Number: 10995 Hi Stephen, SW> If you don't have a job and are a ciziten of Australia, you can get SW> an Invalid Pension, which is $300 per fortnight, as well as many SW> fringe benefits. They are phasing that out though - by saying that all SW> Invalid Pensioners have to enter into Rehabilitation programs. SW> And what do they think the ones who can't work will do? I think the government there needs to wake up to the reality that there are disabled people that can't even feed themselves! I'd like to see how they'll be managed, or are they being put away? -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!249!122.17!Bill.Higgins Internet: Bill.Higgins@p17.f122.n249.z1.fidonet.org
