DOGSLEDDING ADVENTURE
From: Paraplegia News
Oct. 1990
TRAVEL TIPS Section
This winter take the opportunity to experience the beauty of
the snow-covered wilderness. Whisk through the pines behind
a team of energetic sled dogs, ski or pulk-sled across
frozen lakes and meet new friends around the warmth of a
fireplace.
These activities and more await those who join Wilderness
Inquiry's five-day dogsledding trips to Minnesota's Boundary
Water Canoe Area. Located on the US/Canada border, this
unique location features spectacular vistas, frozen
waterfalls and plenty of snow for the winter adventurer.
The ability to ski is not required. The $365.00 fee
includes staff, instruction, food, lodging, dogs, sleds,
skis and other equipment. Participants provide their own
clothing and personal items. Round-trip van transportation
between Minneapolis and the trip location runs an additional
$40.00. Financial assistance is available to qualified
applicants.
Wilderness Inquiry has brought together people of widely
different physical abilities, personal backgrounds, ages and
outdoor skills for winter (and summer) wilderness
adventures. The focus of the program is to provide
opportunities for people to enjoy the wilderness with new
friends in a non-competitive environment.
Winter trips are scheduled for 1991:
* January 30 to February 3rd
* February 6 to 10th
* February 20 to 24th
* February 27 to March 3rd
* March 6 to 10th
