[misc.handicap] Tyredine Footrests

Does anyone out there know where I might be able to purchase
a used set of footrests for a Tyredine wheelchair? I have checked
out about every source around here and have had no luck. New ones
run about $250 to $300, almost as much as the chair cost new.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

                                         Tom

Possible sources (at least of information leading to location of):
National Rehabilitation Information Center, Catholic University of
America, 4407 Eighth St NE, Washington DC 20017, 202-635-5826
Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America, 4405 East-West
Highway, Suite 402, Bethesda MD 20814, 301-657-4142
You might also consult the college of Technology of your local
university, or one of the tech schools that teaches machine shop. If
they can't find you some, I bet they can either re-engineer the ones you
have or design some for you. It would be a good class project for
someone.
