FROM: Tari Susan Hartman, President
       Production Consultan, EQUAL JUSTICE
Tari Susan Hartman has asked me to put this on the Network,
Stanley Greenberg. The producers of ABC/Orion Television's
critically acclaimed prime-time a series, e EQUAL JUSTICE, are
creating a new character named Carry Ann Lynn a dynamic and
attractive attorney who uses a wheelchair. Carry Ann Lynn
represents an unprecendented breakthrough in the portrayals of
people with disabilities in American television. Therefore, the
producers and casting director are conducting a nationwide search
for a professionally trained and/or experienced actress with a
disability. We need your assistance.
When President Bush signed the ADA into law on July 26,
1990, it changed legislation, but not necessarily attitudes.
Television has the power to impprove those attitudes by
presenting positive role models with disabilities. EQUAL
JUSTICE is creating an opportunity for the American public
to experience contemporary issues facing people with
disabilities, through the character Carry Ann Lynn.
We applaud their efforts and encourage your support and
participation. If you know of an experienced and/or
professionally trained actress with a disability, who is
appropriate for the following role, please contact Tari
Susan Hartman at EIN SOF Communications (213) 874-5860.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
Carry Ann Lynn is a 25-31 year old caucasion, attractive,
intelligent, successful and relentless defense attorney. As
a result of a spinal cord injury, she is a paraplegic who
uses a wheelchair. Despite barriers, discrimination and
lowered expectations by others, she uses wit, charm, guts and
advocacy to get what she needs for herself and her clients, her
friends and lovers, and her family and community. EQUAL JUSTICE
characters Carry Ann Lynn and Briggs will develop a romantic
relationship during the course of the season.
