Earlier this fall I posted a summary of the performance given by a
blind man and a man in wheelchair at regional karate championships
in Vermont. Touch with evil intent the man in the wheelchair and
you were MEAT.

The blind man could break blocks thrown in the air by someone
else.

Net/Wo/Men interested in pursuing the martial arts for self
defense, fitness, and increased confidence, and wanting to know
more about the men described above and the schools offering this
type of self-defense course, are invited to contact

FRANK J. GRIFFIS, Green Mt. Tae Kwon-Do, 136 North St, Bennington, Vermont
05201 (802) 442-6111 (answer phone. Hours irregular).

PLEASE ENCLOSE A STAMPED, SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE with your query.

Another gentleman from this club is retiring to Florida to teach
the elderly how to defend themselves against muggers. The same
instructor has coached a 55 y.o. man with back pain and injuries to
the brown belt (one level below black belt) level.

Two of the three clubs I have worked with have been very good. Mr
Griffis, who coaches for the Olympic junior teams, has an
especially sympatico teaching style and seems very aware of muscle,
tendon, and ligament placement and how to exert without
exhausting.
