Greetings Henry,

Did you say sometime back that you got your dog from Seeing Eye? I got
my only guide dog there and it was a great place. Vixen mentioned
practical jokes at doggie school and made me remember a couple from my
seeing eye days. Like the time one night when about eight of us were
sitting around a table and a friend and I very quietly reattached all
the leashes under the table to other dogs, even our own of course. It
got real confusing when everybody got ready to leavfe and stood up. It
was a good thing the dogs knew their own names so we could sort them
out.
Or the time I made a bet with an instructor that I could immitate his
voice so perfectly that I could bring all the girls out of their rooms
with their dogs for park time, even though it was a half hour early.
As he watched, I did my best impression of him and sure enough, a minute
later, all the girls came trooping out, hands in harness. The day
before we left, the president called me into his office and told me he
had the idea I hadn't taken my training at Seeing Eye very seriously,
imagine that. He was wrong. My training was almost the only thing I
took seriously while at Seeing Eye. Did I mention that my training at
Seeing Eye was during the vietnam war and we had a peace march while I
was there? Ahhh well, those were youthful, happy days. Later.
