Index Number: 11451 Bill, Do you know whether or not the TJTC ever made it into the final version of the federal budget? The only thing that I have heard was the alert that you posted. In talking with the professional do-gooders around here, they were not concerned about it. They tell me that this happens every year! In trying to make the news media aware of the problem, their response was that they wanted to check with their own sources. Of course these "sources" were the very people who said there was nothing to worry about! Naturally, the subject never made it to the news in print or on TV. I was quite surprised by the attitude of the professionals. According to them, very few jobs or very few handicapped people could EVER qualify. I was informed that there were only three agencies who could grant approval, the Veterans Administration, the state Vocational Rehabilitaion, and the state Employment Commission. I was also told that the department I was talking with, could not get involved with a political matter! I now understand a little better why the issue was not "newsworthy", considering that this was the source that was being contacted for verification of the news "tip". -Warren- -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!275!429.0!Warren.King Internet: Warren.King@p0.f429.n275.z1.fidonet.org
