Linda, I'd say that the Accent overall has a good pronunciation level.
For instance, you can get it to pronounce the word fly and multiply
correctly all on it's own. I never thought that was a problem until I
had an Artic for a while, and then I got to see how it could be.
To be fair, I don't have any experience with the latest Artic card, so
I don't know what changes they might have made.
Oh, what speech software do you use? You might have told me but I
don't remember.

Bill, I am using the IBM Screenreader with the Votrax Personal
Speech System. The Votrax correctly says "fly" and "multiply",
but it is a slow synthesizer. When it is set for the fastest
rate it clips off words. I hope to get q better synthesizer
some day. Linda

Linda, there is much controversy about Artic and Accent. Personally, i
think that the Accent card is worth twice the money, but you may not,
and if you can understand the Artic and don't have any problems with
the way it pronounces certain words, you may find that the Artic is
goon enough for the money.
I'd heard about the Votrax, but hadn't had a chance to find out about
how good of a system it is.
Keep me posted on your computer upgrades.
