1991 USCPAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 1991 extravaganza is tentatively scheduled to begin with
arrivals on July 11, 1991 and will feature the standard USCPAA
menu of sports and events. The event will take on added
dimensions in that, for the first time, it will be a joint
national championships which, besides USCPAA, will include
national championships for the U.S. Association for Blind
Athletes (USABA), the U.S. Amputee Athletic Association (USAAA),
the Dwarf Athletic Association of America (DAAA), the National
Wheelchair Athletic Association (NWAA) and the U.S. Les Autres
Sports Association (USLASA). The event will also serve as the
competition from which the "Athlete Pool" for the Barcelona,
Spain, Paralympic Games will be established.
The event is being sponsored by the U.S. Organization for
disABLED Athletes (USODA) in concert with the Nassau County
Department of Parks and Recreation. The site (Hoffstra Univer-
sity and surrounding areas) successfully hosted the 1984 Inter-
national Games For the disABLED and the 1987 Can-Am Pacific
Games.
1991 NATIONAL GAMES FAST FACTS:
DATES: July 11 - 16, 1991 (Tentative)
LOCATION: Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
REGISTRATION FEE: $200.00 (also tentative) per athlete/staff.
Includes: Room, Board, Ground Transportation and entry fee.
ENTRY FORMS: Available approximately January 1, 1991.
QUALIFYING STANDARDS: Minimum National Qualifying Standards will
be posted here (when I receive my next Update Newsletter) and
MUST be achieved after ---> JULY 11, 1990 <---
TRAVEL AGENCY: The Official travel agency will be Austin
Travel, Sports Travel Division. Special reduced rates will be
available.
