[This is from the Blink Talk Conference]

Well, a confused and uneasy momentary silence has fallen over the echo.
Half of us are tending to severely cane-whipped guide dogs while the
other half are trying to figure out how we'll execute our mobility with
canes that have been made three feet shorter by crunching, snapping
guide dog jaws.
Some of us are searching subway platforms for those tactile strips but
we can't find them because others of us have pulled them up and wrapped
them around those audible traffic signals, which can't be found either,
and placed both in vaults where a blind person must sign his and three other
names, without signature stamps in one minute to gain access. And then
there are a few pro- and anti- NFB folks wanting to slug it out but
everybody's being real quiet and it's hard to fight with another blind
person when they won't give you a clue as to where they are standing.
Other than that, the few sighted people on the echo are just standing
around with intensely serious and mystified expressions on their faces.
I think I'll just relax and see what happens next, <big grin>.
Seriously, I've only been around the echo for a few months but I've
enjoyed everything and everybody here immensely, thanks.
