Tzip, Gally is so popular because it has such a long and romantic history.
Another reason is that the very name Gallaudet has a special meaning
to deaf people all over the world. It is like having the brand name
of some product. You know the name even if you have never seen or used
the product.
More than anything, Gallaudet is in many ways a minaiture DEAFWORLD.
Those of us who went there, go back. Either to work or visit at every
opportunity. Itis "home." NTID, for all its myriad and well earned
virtues can never hope to match thepopulariy of Gallaudet. It simly
lacks the charisma among deaf people. It is just a fluke of fate that
Gallaudet will always bethe primeire hub around which deaf issues will
flow.
