CB> It was very interesting to read your physicians advice about
CB> refraining from certain foods to possibly ameliorate MS
 CB> problems.

Well it wasn't my physician actually but rather 2 prominent Neurologist's.
One of whom is heavily into researching M.S.
While they do not purport to having found a cure they both have found that
avoiding Animal Fats in the diet has extended periods of remission...

One Professor Merrell (think thats how you spell it)..
Has collated a huge amount of data, showing that Country people with M.S.
who would have handled Animal Fat product's have about 5 times the
incidence of M.S. than their City counterparts per head of capita...

It is also known that M.S. people have a low incidence of 'T' cells..

That a monsterously convincing number of people who contract the disease
live in Temporate or have done B4 the age of 15yrs. Populations nearer the
equator have amazingly few cases of M.S. I believe we are a long way off
finding any cure as there would seem to be to many variables involved with
this disease.. But at least we are moving in the right direction...

By the way I hope this doesn't convince anyone to migrate as it also seems
that people who have lived some of their early lives in these Temporate
zones and then Migrate take the same risk level that they initially had
 with them..

CB> Sensitivities were found to affect pretty well any system of
CB> the body by reports in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Britain, New
CB> Zealand, and the World health ORganization. Unfortunately, in
CB> some parts of the world (including some States of the land
CB> where poeple are free and happy) doctors and health officials
CB> seem more interested in covering up the fact that previous
CB> statements, which caused milions of dollars damages, were not
CB> only wrong, but irresponsible, unethical, illogical.

The old saying comes to mind 'Money Talk's'..
I often have wondered just exactly who is running this world as it would
appear that whoever has all this power is doing a lousy job...
Someone who I knew when I had been diagnosed and struggled to comprehend the
term 'Incurable' in this day and age, had a profound effect on my thinking
when he annouced that 'If we spent the amount of money that we spend on
producing weapons to kill, maim, cripple and dominate each other. We could
have cured every disease known to man long ago!'

As for Petrochemical's. We have the technology to do without this harmful
substance at present, what's holding us back are the people who's asset's
are tied up in a worldwide infrastructure that they aren't prepared to
 dismantle..

 Enough of this depressing thread...

Enjoy what ya can, while you still can (whilst keeping a responsible
 attitude toward others of course!)

         Take care... Don...

(I think your message editor is inserting hard CRs or something like that
which results in poor word-wrap when quoting)

I read an interesting hypothesis about this relationship of climate
to MS, which was that people living in hotter climates tended to
get measles earlier in life than people living in more temperate
climates. Apparently getting measles later in childhood was
associated with a greater risk for MS; one speculation was that
older children were more likely to produce "mistargeted" antibodies
that attacked myelin as well as the measles virus.

I don't know whether this has been pursued further, but now that
measles vaccination is widespread it will be interesting to follow
the rate of MS in those who were vaccinated (if late measles
infection makes one more vulnerable to MS, it should go down. If,
on the other hand, there's actually something protective about
early measles infection, then the rate might go up, although this
seems less likely).
