However in all honesty they don't have nearly the selection of files that Genie has. Genie with its Round Tables really has many unusual and helpful programs to offer. Compuserv seems to be at the end of the line whenit comes to getting the newist of the new shareware programs. However Compuserv does not have any of the technical problems of Genie either. Also, I have found that you normally can access local bulletin boards with the parameters of n,8,1 but when you connect to either Compuserv or Genie you must use the parameters of e,7,1. Index Number: 11931 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] Hi Grant: I am a longtime compuserve user and just signed up (because of price) to Genie at the $4.95 per month plan. Have you tried with speech the Aladdin software which is an offline message reader for Genie? I have been using tapcis (the compuserve offline reader) for some time and think it is a great moneysaver. Although tapcis doesn't write through the vios and is thus not interactive with speech, it works justfine because all of your work is done offline and windows for the speech package can be set up to facilitate things. Talk with you soon. Hope this message gets out. I have been sending a lot of messages and replying as well, but don't seem to be hearing from anyone. What? Nobody wants to talk to me? Gee whiz! Willie did say that something was going wrong with the backbone in Pittsburgh when I talked to him at the Seeing Eye the other night. Anyway, I hope you get this message. Take care, Scott ...
