It lets you use the alt, or control, or shift, or whatever keys to shut up the voice. If you don't have it let me know and I"ll send you the materials to get it working--its only about 4 lines of PAL code that you include in your srd,kpj file. Basically you just insert a $include statement with the extra file name in the core.kpd file and recompile the core/etc. files and off you go. It works really well. You can use this option to do other things as well. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!109!143.0!Al.Hoffman Internet: Al.Hoffman@p0.f143.n109.z1.fidonet.org

Remember, I'm just a user, and a beginner at that. If you can share any Screen Reader tips I'd appreciate it, and I promise not to put your keypad in either my dishwasher or kitchen sink. Do you use Screen Reader regularly? Do you receive the newsletter that IBM sends out quarterly? Thanks. Anyway, here is the scoop, in one of the News letters ther AltStop coding is given, you put a include statement in your Core.Kpd and then recompile the standard system setup(s) so that they all use it. The Alt key can then be used as the shutup key. If you want, I could compile one here if you give me enought info and you could either dnload it or, have somebody do it their if you don't feel up to the thing. Its really not very hard, but can make a big mess if done wrong. Anyway, I could also send you the stuff on disk if you sent me some sort of backup of your srd system files and the kbd(s) and kbj(s) so I could make sure yours worked. I am using Screen Reader right now as a matter of fact. OK, see ya later. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!109!143.0!Al.Hoffman Internet: Al.Hoffman@p0.f143.n109.z1.fidonet.org
