[Note from Bill McGarry -- I could not figure out who James
was actually trying to send this to, so I'll post it and
hopefully it will make it to the proper person.]

UCP, I am in Tucson, Arizona. Your message came to me through netmail
instead of the echo. I haven't figured out how to reply to messages
using that area on my BBS. Talks about matri addresses and such and
I keep getting lost.

Anyway, the "think hearing" sign as I and other use it is like he sign
for hearing. Instead of rotating the index finger at the lips, itis
placed at the forehead. As describec in the book you mentioned, I am
not sure aboutthe temple location. Sounds more like the sign for crazy.
Their definition could fit the sign I just gave you because the concept
applies. However, when we deafies sign it, it mean to his that the
person is not really deaf, but hearing in mind and soul, therefore
not a part of us. Sounds harsh, but it kind of like say a blackperson
trying to pass as white or vice versa or versa vice or whatever. };->

Sooner or later something relating to interpreters will pop up, I assure
you. I for one do not think you interpreters (especially the really
good ones) get enough support from us deafies. I think we could do
more in fighting for recognization of you guys as professionals and
being tretaed as such by colleges, social service agencies, courts
etc. I will stop here as I have to answer a lot of local stuff this
morning on the other BBS' I hang out on. And thanks for the support.
